On July 14, 2022, Meta released its first-ever human rights report. The company said this report covered the two calendar years of 2020 and 2021.
Immediately, global human rights groups slammed Meta for its failure to acknowledge the severity of hate speech on Facebook in India, especially by Hindu supremacists connected with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government and Bharatiya Janata Party, as well as the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the BJP’s Nazi-inspired ideological parent.
